The tiger orchid blooms once a year in the humid canopy of Southeast Asian rainforests — broad gold petals dashed and speckled in wine-dark markings, the same rosette pattern found on the great cats that share its name. It took nature thousands of years to paint that coat. We spent months trying to capture it in fabric.

Printed to order in the EU from recycled polyester, and fully compliant with EU GPSR product safety standards.

This is as close as printed cloth allows: the exact gold-to-umber gradient of the bloom, carried across four-way stretch fabric so the pattern moves the way the orchid never could.

High-waisted, second-skin fit, built for a sun salutation or a slow walk through the forest. Finished with a hidden inside waistband pocket for a key or card. Wear it as art you happen to move in.

Behind The Catch

Every print in our collection starts as a real, photographed orchid — not an illustration. For thousands of years, across cultures that never met, people looked at this same flower and saw something worth remembering.

This piece: The Phalaenopsis, or "moth orchid," was named after a Swedish naturalist mistook its blooms for a swarm of moths in the 1750s. Its long-lasting bloom has made it a symbol of patience, elegance, and quiet resilience ever since.
Ancient Greece

The word "orchid" comes from the Greek orchis. Legend tells of a youth named Orchis who was transformed into the flower after his death — giving it a lasting meaning of transformation and rebirth. It was also seen as a symbol of virility and fertility.

Ancient Egypt

Egyptians linked the orchid to Isis, goddess of fertility, and prized it as a symbol of luxury, elegance, and nurturing power.

Aztec Mexico

The Aztecs saw the orchid as a sign of strength and power, using it in religious ceremony and in medicine.

Ancient Rome

Around 90 orchid species were carved into the Ara Pacis, the altar to peace built by Emperor Augustus in 9 BCE — a lasting symbol of celebration, rebirth, and prosperity.

Imperial China

Confucius called the orchid the flower of the virtuous man — blooming quietly in remote forests, fragrant whether or not anyone was there to notice. It became one of the "Four Gentlemen" of Chinese art, standing for humility, integrity, and quiet strength of character.

Victorian England

Orchids were so rare and difficult to grow that owning one signaled wealth and refined taste — collectors' obsession with them was nicknamed "Orchidelirium." In the Victorian language of flowers, giving an orchid was a quiet declaration of love and admiration.

Japan

In Japanese culture and in ikebana, the orchid stands for sophistication, nobility, and perfection — a flower associated with aristocracy and refinement.
