The chameleon does not invent its colours.

It takes them from the world around it: the green of a leaf, the gold of the sun on bark, the soft pink of a flower it rests beside. It does not fight nature. It becomes part of it.

That is what we do.

Nature is the greatest artist who has ever lived.

For billions of years it has been painting: the spots of an orchid, the stripes of a tiger, the colours of a petal that no human ever mixed. We did not create these colours. We could never create them better.
