Sorbet Morpho Viola: The Flower Behind Our Electric Purple Print

The name is a nod to one of the most famous colors in nature: the iridescent blue of the Morpho butterfly, produced not by pigment but by the microscopic structure of its wing scales. Sorbet Morpho, the viola cultivar, gets its color the ordinary way — through pigment — but the effect is just as striking: deep electric purple petals deepening toward a whiskered gold center.

It's part of the same Sorbet series as our other Viola prints, bred to bloom in compact mounds through a long cool-season display. What sets Morpho apart is intensity — where Delft Blue reads cool and Honeybee reads warm, Morpho is saturated, almost glowing, the boldest color in the whole series.
